Principal Brenda Kelley

LENOX, Mass. (WWLP 22NEWS) – Brenda Kelley of the Morris Elementary School in Lenox has been named the Massachusetts Elementary School Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association (MSAA).

Every year, the MSAA recognizes principals from elementary and high schools who have demonstrated leadership and have created a safe environment for all members of the school community. During this year’s process, Morris teachers and parents submitted comments about Principal Kelley’s work in the school district, noting her warmth, compassion and knowledge of leadership skills.

“It is abundantly clear that Principal Kelley is highly regarded by each and every administrator, teacher, parent, and student in the Morris community,” said Superintendent William Collins. “Her efforts in making Morris Elementary School a wonderful place to learn and grow are apparent through her ability to foster relationships, lead her peers, and inspire others to make a change in the community. This honor is well-deserved.”

The MSAA will honor Principal Kelley at their annual Leadership Institute in July and will also travel to Morris Elementary School to present her with an award.

“I am honored to have been awarded this recognition. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my incredible team of staff and faculty at Morris, who work hard to ensure our students have the best possible learning environment,” said Principal Kelley. “Thank you to my fellow administrators in the MSAA for considering me!”
